AN ANIMAL WELFARE GRANT FROM OLIVER'S FOUNDATION
The great work rescues and shelters do for homeless animals is obvious: saving them from dangerous situations, taking care of their medical and emotional needs, and of course finding them forever homes.
However, if we can reduce the number of pets ending up in shelters, we can alleviate the stress on those shelters. We want to ensure pets stay in caring homes with loving families as opposed to overburdening shelters.
This initiative will support rescues financially with programs that keep pets in their loving homes. By awarding grants to them specifically earmarked for shelter prevention, they are able to fund initiatives that meet criteria to achieve our goal.
We will be supporting the many practices that are proven to keep pets with their families; such as educating current and potential pet owners on what to expect when they get a pet, establishing TNR practices, training and microchipping, among others.
